Transformers Trailer, Post-Production Updates

The Michael Bay blog and forums have provided updates on the final trailer for Transformers and the state of post-production work. Thanks to Chad T for the link.

Regarding the final trailer:
Nelson here.

A little update: I just spoke to Bay and he's just putting the finishing touches of the new Transformers theatrical trailer.

It will be attached to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Pirates 3 is coming out May 25th. Be aware that just because a studio wants a trailer to come out with a film doesn't mean the theatre will honor the request. Ultimately when the theatre put the reels together as they see fit, not the studio.

Post-production update, also from Nelson:
Exactly 2 months form now, most of you will be wathcing Transformers and posting your opinions on these and other forums.

This movie is about 3-4 weeks from being locked (locked means that no more changes can be made to a film so that it could be release for masive reel duplication).

At this point, there are few mods left. Mike is tweaking the ending and maybe shaving off some minutes here and there. He's waiting for some final renders from ILM and that's it.

The photo of OP in the LA Times should tell you what the final decision is on the mouth/faceplate/battle mask is.

He and others then start the international press tour in early June.

So for now, could we stop and relax on the whining?

Nothing you say, post, scream will have an impact at this point.

If you don't like the choices, fine. And if you do, good for you.

Take a rest, and come back in 2 months all ready for more debating.

Trust me, if Armageddon was any indication, you'll need the energy and then some. There will be twice as many detractors.

Just ask Ed Fuego of how lt was at Harry's AICN when Armageddon premiered.
Not sure what most of that means but the takeaway is Bay and co are confident about the movie, the faceplate "battle-mode" remains, and the film is 4 weeks from being locked, ie June which is around the time the toys are coming and the major marketing campaign is most likely to kick off.
