Time Warner Joins Transformers Bandwagon

In Hollywood, when an idea looks like its a money maker, there is usually only one response - copy it. That seems to already be occurring for Transformers. The movie is not even out yet clearly Warner Bros have decided to join the sentient robot bandwagon as sooner as possible with DC's Metal Men optioned as a new movie for Warner Bros.

The Metal Men are basically sentient, shape changing or transforming robots of a particular metal type. One is made up of lead, another mercury and so forth. Warner owns DC comics. Out of all the properties they have available to make movies from, they just happened to choose one that is the closest analogy to Transformers? That is too much of a coincidence for me to believe.

Movie not even out and a competitor is already acknowledging its probably success mostly sight unseen. I am betting the powers that be at Dreamworks are pleased.
